A fitting beginning to our Pride LGBTQ+ season is this acclaimed new documentary.
Combining rare archive footage with interviews from leading campaigners, Are You Proud? charts the LGBTQ+ movement’s momentous journey charting the joys and divisions toward equality. Celebrating the community’s greatest achievements, the film calls attention to the fights both past and present while asking tough questions about the future.

Tucked (15)

UK / 2019 / 80 mins / Cert 15

Tucked is a raw and tender drama about Jackie, an ageing 80 year old drag queen who forms an unlikely friendship with Faith, a younger queen, both struggling with their own issues of gender identity & mortality. As they discover more about each other, they realise how to truly be themselves. The film stars Derren Nesbitt as Jackie and Jordan Stephens  aka ‘Rizzle’, vocalist from Rizzle Kicks, as Faith. Set in Brighton, Tucked is a classic British ‘slice of life’ story, with echoes of Funny Cow and Kinky Boots.

“Nesbitt gives a career-capping performance as veteran drag queen Jackie in Jamie Patterson's poignant study of acceptance and reconciliation.” Radio Times.
